In 1929, Harry Block started a small mail order business that slowly grew to a national mail order company. A two person business grew to one that employed hundreds in suburban showrooms. During the growth, a second generation of Blocks entered the business and adapted to changing times. No more 300 page catalogs, instead small flyers specializing in fine jewelry. During this growth, a third generation who grew up in the company assumed leadership. Over the years, the Blocks traveled to the diamond markets of the world, from Antwerp to Tel Aviv, from Bombay to Johannesburg, personally buying diamonds direct from the best cutters to bring the greatest value to their customers.
